Hi all, I've checked the FAQ and see no reference to my prob so sorry if it is there and I've missed it! In a nutshell all is well with my xp installation except that the txt in the R/H pane of window's help files is suddenly tiny , I mean too small to read. All the txts in all fonts in all other windows under all circumstances are normal. All help files in non xp apps are normal. I can find settings to change much in the way of fonts and point sizes but nothing to control the txt size in windows help messages. I repeat that the index etc in the help boxes is all ok, just the R/H pane. XP issues often sort themselves but not this time and it is becoming a pain to put on magnifying specs to read help files!! Any fixes for this would be great! Thanks all, BB

Do you see the OPTIONS button?
When clicked, you should see on the Left side- Change Help and Support Center Options

In there you should see Font Size used for Help Content
    Small
    Medium - is the default
    Large

ok. I've just opened note pad help and there is an options tab. Clicking it brings down a menu , hide, tabs home stop etc but nothing on the left as you describe. It does sound as if it is help & support centre options that I need. Where are these to be found ? Thanks a lot for your help, sounds as if this may be cleared up soon. PS I am a limey so "centre" is how we degenerates spell "center" (just trying to prove that I'm not totally stupid!) lol

update. Found help centre options. They were set to medium as they should be. Changed to large. this had NO effect. Interesting ? I did not re boot after making change, nor was there an "apply" option. So ....
