At Comcast web site, it says:

I just read the above mail, so I'm still munching on it. ****** off, that's for sure.

    Not only to you.

It makes total sense to me.

    250GB/30 days = 8.33GB a day. You think you'll ever use that?!

    I'm 'doing' around 33 GB a month.

This is due to all the p2p users and botnets bogging down the available bandwidth, preventing not only the average user from having a good online experience, but affecting many businesses that depend on high quality service as well. Expected, and needed IMO. 250GB a month ........ that's a lot of usage.

I understand well, what you're saying, but that's not the point.
    This is about principle:
    UNLIMITED Internet
This is what I signed for, and it doesn't matter to me, if I use 1gig a month, or 100gig.

Greed: you give them a finger, soon, they'll ask for a whole hand.

I understand. I was equally irritated when Sprint capped my unlimited plan at 5GB and I immediately cancelled it.

Still, 250GB would be tough to exceed at this time.

Sure, and now they change the conditions. Which is their right to do.

It's not about greed. It's about shutting down botted and p2p networks that are consuming so much bandwidth that other customers are being deprived of what they pay for, which is reliable service with a nominal amount of available bandwidth. Are you really willing to sacrifice your internet speed to allow those machines to continue infecting millions of users around the world, just for the satisfaction of knowing your own usage is unlimited? 250GB ..... might as well be unlimited.

I'm not worrying about 250gig. I'll never exceed it.
My concern is: today it's 250gig, tomorrow, maybe 100gig?

I would guess that Comcast did significant studies to determine that 250 GB allotment, and wouldn't expect that to change any time soon, if at all. At any rate, why spend today worrying about tomorrow? Just get through today and if tomorrow brings a change you cannot sit still for, deal with it tomorrow. ;)

Understandable broni, but again, no doubt Comcast did extensive studies before implementing this change ........ not as if they just picked some random number on a whim. It's unlikely that number will be revised any time soon. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if you actually see an increase in your transfer speeds because of this. After all, taking down the machines that are eating up the available bandwidth leaves more for whoever is left to share/divide.

If I take up a collection, would that suffice? :p

If it changes any time soon, I'll start a campaign to spam Comcast with emails about how wrong they are to do that to you.

I try to avoid pre-traumatic stress disorders. In other words, I try not to worry about what has not happened yet.
