    Good Evening Staff and visitors,
My wife has a Dell Dimension 2400 and I a Dell Dimension 4600; MS Windows XP, Home Edition was installed on each at purchase. Occasionally we need System Administrator (SA) privileges to change MS configuration, e.g. to remove unnecessary applications loading during a system boot. The error window states that only the SA can make these adjustments.
Please give us some help with this presumably easy solution.
    Sincerely,
    Scott Dietert

PS:I installed Ubuntu 8.04 several months ago on a second internal drive and became the SA immediately.

Why is the text off center; I can find no way to correct this entry; I use BBS for several years and have NEVER seen this configuration

I have found the solution to my search for the System Administrator designation.
Go to Control Panel/User Accounts and open this application. This provides user options including System Administrator and Guests. Select System Administrator and be sure to use a password for the computer to recognize you as the SA when you first boot the computer. Simply naming yourself as the SA in Control Panel/User Accounts will not accomplish what I desired: to be recognized by the Dell 4600 as having the SA privileges to make changes that the non SA can not make.
    Sincerely,
scottdietert, now the recognized SA on the home PC
