Well I sure did it now....got board with what I had so I downloaded IE8 on my laptop....thank goodness I have this tower pc to type on.......things won't work. Windows open and shut right away. I took out pc3 and tried to uninstall through the windows help but that only was for Explorer 7...don't want to take that out. I did restore a couple of times. Is there a way to get it out without taking out everything else?
    I won't play around any more......promise!!! Help! Snookie28

    Uninstalling IE8

Once you install IE8 on a XP Service Pack 3 computer, you are stuck with it, wait it out until IE8 final comes out. The only way to uninstall IE8 is by reverting back to SP2, uninstall IE8, and then Reinstall XP Service Pack 3.

This is if you have Windows XP. I know nothing about vista. Is this what you are trying to ask? let me know

    uninstalling IE8

Hello sniper...thanks for the reply. I have XP home edition. I did read some on it...took out sp3. How and where do I download sp2 again? It's tough because when i open a window or web page it dissapears as soon as it opens so its hard to do. I am on my tower writing to you....the problem is on my laptop which i use a lot too. Any help you can give will be appreciated. I followed the directions for unstalling IE8 but IE7 came up to be unstalled. Thanks,Snookie28

You could install Opera or Firefox and just ignore the fact that IE8 is installed

    uninstalling IE 8.....here's how!!!

Hello All......I could not Ignore that I was running IE 8 because it would not let me into anything....SOoooooooo for a couple of others whom I read had the same problem as me......start,run,type cmd and when the black window opens type %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe and hit enter and a box comes up and asks you if you want to remove IE 8 Beta and you go from there. As far as I can tell, everything is running as before I installed IE 8. It was so unstable....even virius protection didn't work.
Thanks for you help......so glad I figured this one out quick.:):rolleyes:snookie28

In all honesty, I have not found IE5, IE6, or IE7 to be any better.

Problem after uninstalling IE8" Blue screen of Death!! "

Hello, well here we go again.....I did uninstall IE8....was so unstable and most things did not work and I figured some problem would pop up for taking it out. I went to reinstall stopzilla because that had totally disapeared after the IE8 take out so when I went to download it again, I kept getting a message that my windows installer package was not working so I tried to restore back to when it was and during the restore....the blue screen of death came up:eek:.Restarted it twice and the same thing.... started it in safe mode to picked time when computer was working right and still brought up blue screen.Don't think it was from taking out IE8 because it did work ok until I tried to restore. Here Is what the message was:
Stop c0000zla ( Fatal System Error) The session manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of oxcooooo34 (oxoooooooo oxoooooooo). The system has been shut down:( Don't think I can figure this one out for myself. Thank goodness I have two puters.
    Thanks,Snookie28
