Issue 1- Hi there everybody. I've been using Vista x64 + SP1. I've got an annoying problem - least for me - and would like your help. Ever since I install my OS I go to Computer (former Windows Explorer), acces my C: drive, set the view options for folders, disabling information I don't want displayed, then go > Organise > Folder and Search Options > View "tab" and "Apply to Folders" to keep my settings. Problem is, most of the times I return or open folders in other drives (I have four HDDs up and running), things are not the way I at least set them to be, especially the upper sections where we have things like Name/Size/Type/Date Modified/Tags etc. It almost always brings stuff like "Date taken ", "Ratings" which I hate to see displayed , and so on. is there any (Resgistry) tweak I can use to keep these settings, no matter what?

Issue 2- I think it is related with 1 above in a way. How do I make Vista keep the size and position of the windows I open regularly? Like Control Panel for example? I don't like it maximized or default sized and positioned. And the Welcome Centre as well. I know right clicking and choosing a shortcut and Properties give me the option for "Run" but only in Normal Size/ Mnimized / Maximized. i want it "Customised ".

Any clues guys? Thanx for your precious support :)

I'm back only to report things are doing fine. The method you linked me to, Burr, worked just fine. So far so good. Thank you again mate.
