"Internet Explorer has stopped working"

Irritating new events... I'm using IEPro 2.2. Tried to resolve it by uninstalling IEPro, performing advanced Reset on IE7, and the problem did go away. I then reinstalled IEPro2.2 and it has come back - but now only when I download, say, any installer programs. At the end of the download - IE7 crashes, just on completion, and immediately restarts. The downloaded installer program, by the way, downloads correctly - however, you cannot, of course select 'run' before starting the download, only 'save' because you lose track of it through the crash before it can run.

This is a new problem for me. Previously, IEPro ran impeccably. I've just had my computer back from repair (new keyboard - and new secondary hard drive, after original failed). No evidence of any viruses. I have no plugins or addons that I didn't have before the trouble started. Latest Windows updates, perhaps? In which case it may eventually resolve through an IEPro update to catch up, I suppose...

No big deal, since I mainly use Firefox, but still irritating. I'm wondering if anyone else is suffering?

Thanks for that Peter... but while it it true that this is the most likely situation, I was wondering why nobody else seems to be reporting this on the boards afaics... Guess I'll just have to be patient (or uninstall IEPro - which'd be a pity, as it almost makes IE7 as good as Firefox)

 

My mistake - I kept reinstalling a saved copy of ie7pro2.2, when the latest (since May!) is 2.3 - now all is working fine.

Yes mine stopped working too, although I use mostly Firefox anyway but it is annoying. Vista seems a lot buggier
than XP. I also had both my DVDs quit working when somehow the drivers became corrupted.

Another tack I guess - but, really - it's not so much that Vista is so buggy as that it requires driver updates that too many manufacturers/software suppliers seem unable or unwilling to provide. It's a shame that Microsoft is not riding this one out and seems to be rushing to get Windows 7 out, 'cos I think that Vista - once you've tweaked it to your own needs - is a fine OS.
