I keep getting the BSOD and can't figure out why. Windows will not even boot up so I can't get to the debugger file.

THe computer is an HP Pavillion a530n. It is a few years old. No new hardware or software was installed on it.

I have replaced/added a memory module, same results. tried different socket as well.
    Unplugged all drivers, same thing.
Did a system restore, which reloaded all software back to what it was when I bought the machine....

The BSOD error changes as well. Sometimes it is a driver_irql_not _less_or_equal.....Sometimes it is just IRQL_not_less_or_equal

the adresses and error seems to be different each time..

Sometimes it refers to a driver ( a different one each time, if I have them plugged in) Sometimes it does not...

It will not even boot up in safe mode. I also played with the Bios settings with no luck

here is some of the data I collected.

    1. This was generated with all drivers installed just after a system restore from the factory partition

    Driver IRQL_not_less_or_equal
    stop: 0x000000d1 6xe856000f, 0x00000002,0x0000001,0xf696f1d8
    tcpip.sys address f696f1d8 base at f6954000
    beginning dump of physical memory

    2. all drivers unplugged, safe mode...with new memory module installed in different socket

    IRQL_not _less_or_equal
    stop 0x0000000a (oxffdfe000, 0x000000FF, 0x00000000, 0x8053009d

it did not refer to a driver here.

Any ideas or suggestions to point me in the right direction....it is a boat anchor right now, can't even get it far enough to load the backdrop

Thank you very much in advance

Follow these instructions to post a Dump Data Log.

If you do not have a dump, ensure that your machine is configured to write out a dump by following the directions from microsoft

So how can I pull up the dump files, if the computer will not boot?
All hardware is disconnected...so I dont think it is a driver
    New memory modules were installed.

Is this a virus? Boot sector on the harddrive corrupted?

    Anyone?

Have you looked at the motherboard and checked for any leaking or bluging caps? Also, try re-seating all the cards (video, sound and etc). By re-seating, I mean physically removing and re-inserting them (in same slots).

Also, by no booting, do you mean NO power to the system? Do any of the fans spin up?

No the fans come up and the power comes on.....The bios comes up. I've tried the system restore option that comes up with the HP software and reinstalled windows.
But when the windows logo comes up and starts to boot, it fails with the blue screen.

I tried in safe mode as well, but still comes up with blue screen during windows start up.

Then try re-seating the cards. Did you check the caps???

I did reseat the cards. I only have a modem card which I removed. ( Dont use it anyway)
And the video card. I even removed the video card and timed the harddrive. I could tell it still went to the blue screen, harddrive did not run long enough to completely boot.

I did a quick examination of the mother board and did not notice anything, But I will double check.....paying particular attention to the caps and chips.

Quick thought? Have you tested the memory with Memtest82+ ???? Even if you put in new memory, do not mean 1 stick is not bad...or the ram slot itself....

I haven't tried memtest...not even sure how to run it...

but I did try a new memory stick... in the old slot, and in the new slot, and with both installed and every combination you can think of

It is downloaded and either burned to CD (it is bootable) or to a floppy
