[bsod citing klif.sys]

hi can anyone help me my computer crashed and i did a repair install with xp cd, it boots to windows screen with bars then bsod with error file klif.sys i can't start in safe mode as windows hadn't finished repairing it please help

 

klif.sys is associated with Kaspersky anti-virus, so I would try uninstalling Kaspersky and then re-installing it.

mickzer, it looks as if hillybush11 can't start Windows in normal or safe mode.

I would keep trying to re-run the Repair installation of Windows. If it cannot be overcome, the data should backed up and a new install of Windows considered.

You could possibly direct the installation to a different folder than C:\Windows, but after backing up using the new install, I would reformat.
