I recently did a system restore on one of my computers. After everything was installed and XP had started I get a Limited or No Connectivity over the LAN symbol. There are 3 computers hooked to NETGEAR switch and the other 2 computers have no problem connecting. In fact one of them was just restored using the same disk and connects just fine. They are running the service pack 2 and I have tried the patch for it and also tried the LSPFix program.

    Thank You

I'd start by going to device manager and deleting the Network Interface Card. Then reboot. On reboot the system should re-detect the NIC and reinstall drivers.

hey why dont u try this before uninstalling the drivers, go to control panel and hit on network connections and look for the lan card you have, Right click on the Lan connection and hit properties and look for the option all the way down "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity ", If the option is checked remove the check mark and hit ok.Close all the windows and iam sure that option u wont see the message.
    Keep me updated

    Hi Try these steps,

1.Try reducing your connection speed by going to device manager,Locate your network card in the right-hand pane, and double-click to open it.Hit on the "Advanced" tab and then click on 'Speed and Duplex'.Change the settings from "Auto" to "10Mb Full. Click OK
Restart and check whether this works

    2. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...d2-5034-4bbb-b74d-ad8430a1f7c8&DisplayLang=en
    Is this update installed

Try this registry fix,Pls do a backup of registry before working with registry files

Open your notepad and type in:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IPSec] "AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule "=dword:00000002

    2. Save the file to your desktop as with the name fixreg.reg

    3. Double-click the file, and it will be installed to your directory.

    4. Reboot your computer, and the bug will be fixed.

indiaguyinkl. I don't think you are give good advice here. Let's wait until 68camconv comes back to us and we try a few simpler things before we send them into the registry.

On a wired network this is commonly a sign of an underlying hardware fault. If you've reinstalled the network card drivers in the way I suggested, the next thing I'd look at is the cable and switch port. Check the cable is correctly connected to your switch/router and into your network card. Then try connecting into a different switch/router port. Then try another cable.

The lights on both ends are lit and flashing. I have tried takeing the line straight from the modem out of the router and still nothing. When I replug it back in the other 2 computers still work fine and the wireless works fine.

OK - let's assume for now this isn't a network card hardware fault. Next thing to try is something wrong with DHCP. Try setting up the TCP/IP statically.

    IP Address
If you know the IP address of the PC normally, use that. Otherwise take the router's IP address and change the last octet to 177. So if the router is 192.168.0.1, use the IP address 192.168.0.177.

    Subnet Mask
Same as the other PCs. It will probably be 255.255.255.0

    Default Gateway
    Router's IP address

    DNS
    Router's IP address

Can you get a good connection now?

Oh! and while you are in the TCP/IP settings, remove the QoS Scheduler.
