So I'm looking for a cool email service. I don't mind paying an annual fee if it's worth it. I used to use AOL, but I kept getting laughed at. lol...

My main account is now an @live.com account. Gmail is ok, but I don't find the UI that striking. I have a Blackberry, and therefore use the @blackberry.net email service. Now that's cool. However, unfortunately, at the present time, there is no way to access Blackberry email on the web. I also use an iPhone 3G, but mobileme has not only been a disaster for Apple, but they actually want $100 a year for that thing. Yahoo I'm not crazy about either. I'm looking for a more business-like email service.

Do you guys like Windows Live email? That's my favorite right now. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that emails are not pushed, even when I have my mail tab open. I always have to click on "Check mail ". I wonder if that would change if I coughed up the annual fee for it, which I am contemplating doing.

What do you guys use?? Any suggestions? Are there any Windows Live people in the house? Is it worth paying the annual fee?

Thanks for all of your input. :)

How about registering your own domain name & getting your own mail server hosted ? If you search around, you would be able to find a provider who can fulfill most of your requirements.

That's a good idea. I actually did that one time through register.com. I do not have much experience with, as that was part of my own website at the time.

Would you recommend going through register.com, or are there better deals to be had with other providers?

    Thanks! :)

If you are looking for an email application that does the checking for you why not use what is in your system, Outlook, or you can use something similar called Incredimail, both recieve at preset intervals and give a notification of recieved mail, inbox can be customised, I use windows live but it is a pain having to check for mail every now and then, but I live with it, but it does have spam checking capabilities, but most ISP's also do in some form?
    regards Jac

    Hey Jac,

Thanks for the response. Well, I don't mean email *client*, I mean email *service*. I like Thunderbird for an email client but I don't even use that much. I mostly use my Blackberry, Treo, and iPhone 3G to check emails, which is why I like the Push feature. Blackberry's are hands down the very best (BIS or BES for corporate email). I use BIS, and the new version (2.5) is awesome with its HTML, along with a multitude of new email functionalities, such as the addition of several email providers, such as Windows Live, which I currently use. I can't, however, get the same push email service on the iPhone or on any of my Windows Mobile devices.

I think I need to find an Exchange service for true push on any non-BB platforms. I found izymail, which is not bad. I still think there are better ones out there, as izymail is still not true push.

    Hmm...any ideas anyone?
