Hi all! I'm new to the site because I just happened to see this post when I searched "usb port trouble "---I am having the exact same problem!! Was on the phone with Dell for over an hour to find the computer is fine!! So what is wrong? I tried my mp3 player and my sister's and Windows Media Player isn't recognizing either as connected! this just started last week. the Dell guy had me plug it in before turning on the computer too, but no help. My ports are in the back and have tried both. The mp3 player will charge, but just isn't recognized anymore by WMPlayer. Not a comp wiz, but know a lil something. Help please, thanks

Hi and welcome to the BBS,

See if it appears in Disk Management (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management).

If it does not appear there, I suspect you will need to go to the MP3's player manufacturer's website and look for firmware update or utility to rebuild the partition on it. If it came with an "installer disk ", check the information on that.

    Matt
