Not sure where to post this question, but will try this thread. While playing poker in the game room on AOL, my wife gets booted off in the middle of a hand and gets this screen message: "Network Error: An existing connection was forcibly closed br the remote host." This began just recently after a Comcast service call which replaced wire to house to improve signal (wire was at least 25 years old). Boot-off is erratic and consists of screen freeze, "Goodbye" and "Welcome." Sometimes a reconnect screen, sometimes not. New Belkin router (G-MIMO) and second Comcast service call to perform ping test and confirm signal strength. What is the message telling me to correct?
Is it my computer, my router, or AOL? Thanks!

No, it looks more like the remote host. They have recently installed a new cable so, check your remote host first.

That means the connection was closed on the server she was connected to.

    Network error

Since I'm a neophyte on this board, I was not sure of where to post my question. While I appreciate that Arie adjusted my subject, I have no idea what that means. Is it under another thread ?
Two people answered my questions. Neither answer helped. I still don't know what or where the Remote Host is. And the link to server in Arie's post brought me to a site which told me nothing, so I still don't know what server anyone is talking about. Pardon my relative ignorance on the subject, but I don't have a computer engineering background, so the terms have no meaning to me.

    Hi Tom,
in a lot of cases the server, either yours or the other end have time-outs, can your wife reconnect to the site easily or does it take a bit of mucking around? Could also be caused by site overload, not sure if that helps?
    regards Jac
