Hi Friends:

When you schedule a Scandisk in WinXP and it goes through it (takes quite a while), where does it put the log of results so you can take a look at what it found, what it fixed, if anything, and all other information regarding the results?

Thanks for any help

Thank you, Gianni. I found and read it. I have The Ultimate Troubleshooter from Answers That Work, but I couldn't find an option there that lets me view the log. I copied it to the clipboard, but now how do I get to the clipboard? Sorry for sounding so stupid, but I have never really dug into the inner workings of Windows XP and don't know a lot about where it puts things.

Postscript: Ignore the above. I have found it in WordPad. Thanks again!

Hello, Mickey. :)
Assuming you're typing about the Windows XP Clipboard...

The Windows XP clipboard program is usually located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe

If you click Start > Run..., type clipbrd.exe into the "Open" field, and then click the OK button, the clipboard should open and display its contents for you.

If you have copied text/log information to the clipboard, then you can usually paste that information into a word processor such as Notepad or Microsoft Office Word.

While editing, hold the Ctrl key and tap the V key to paste the contents of the windows clipboard.
