    Hi all,

I actually have a problem that I have had before with a client, but I cannot remember how I fixed it.

Here is the issue she is having. When she opens up a window that is maximized and wants to "restore down ", the window minimizes to the taskbar and only after several clicks will it restore. It also beeps everytime you try to restore the window. When I say several I mean continual clicking for maybe a minute. The window highlights like it's on the screen, but is not there. Obviously there is not a way to resize the window. Minimizing and maximizing work just fine, it's only the restore down function.

Have you ever heard of this before?

    Thanks,
    mtaffer

The OS seems to remember the last restore size of windows, so maybe if you can get them open to a reasonable size, then when they're restored from full screen they'll resume that size. Try opening two of a window and rt-click a blank area on the taskbar, and choose tile. After they're tiled close one of them and you may have a window you you can resize at will and after you make it full screen it should restore to the same size.

Never tried it but should work unless windows is broken.

    Thanks for the info,

I actually used a program off of Kelly's Corner that had various Toobar fixes. I tried the reset toolbar and unhide toolbar programs...and apparently one of them worked, as the user says everything is working fine now.

    Thanks again, :)

I went into Zoom Browser, clicked on an image, then opened Raw Image Task – where I’ve been having this problem. Image was maximized. I right-clicked open portion of taskbar, then clicked on Tile Vertically. This worked. My “Image Quality Adjustments” window jumped over to right side of screen, and my image reduced to Restore Down size. I moved the ImageQualityAdjustments window over to left and out of way. IMPORTANT: I closed RawImageTask (and enclosed image) while still in the RestoreDown size, and as expected, the computer and/or program remembered this RestoreDown size! Now (when open) I can drag the image to my other monitor—or whatever. But remember to close Raw Image Task while in the RestoreDown size!

    Hi Hei,

What you are describing isn't germane to this issue and should be posted as a new question. Your issue is your "monitor ".

The ")(" shape is called "pin cushion ", and could be a sign that your monitor is getting old, or needs adjustment.
