    Hello

I just bought a "plusTV Analog USB stick (PVR-TV 305U)" coz i wanted to be able to watch & record tv shows on my PC.
I installed it properly & the CD had "HyperMedia Center"
I connected it to the RF out (from the receiver)
when i used the HyperMedia Center the image is severly distorted but there was sound
I installed Video Capture 8.0, the image is fine sometimes but no sound
(seemed that the USB stick doesn't even support sound but strangely enough it worked with HyperMedia Center !!)

i hope someone could help me solve this problem,
    thanks in advance :)

As you just bought the card you should take any issues up with the manufacturer first. They have a troubleshooting FAQ on their site which refers to at least one of your problems. Take a look here:

I have a PCI TV card, so I can only extrapolate to a USB stick.

Me, I would uninstall everything, check for driver updates and then do the installation again.

As you can see it is very dependent on graphics and audio drivers. After my card is installed, it then adds extra drivers related to graphics and audio.

You may need to update your USB Controller drivers, these are usually included with the motherboard chipset drivers.

Look for drivers at the hardware manufacturer's website, not by using automatic updating by letting Windows "look for them ".

If the new hardware does not work correctly, I always uninstall, check for updated drivers for related hardware, then start the installation again.

    Matt

    @ Miniwood

    thanks for replying
    i checked the FAQ's

"2. Maybe is in the PVR-PLUS software option system setup, audio input method not select (Line-In) or (MIC) "
so, i connected the audio out of the tv to the MIC of the PC
well, that worked but that way the tv should be on when i use it :(
shouldn't the RF support audio too? (it did with HyperMediaCenter) but the image is severly distorted.

well, dunno what to do as i also tried "open video capture" which had same sound problem & it also skipped many frames during recording.

still looking for a software that would do it or something :)
    thanks :)

Hi sasouna, I do use a USB2 DVBTHDTV Receiver and it works great. Record Playback but I do not connect it to the TV I run a coaxial cable straight from the Antenna wall- socket to the receiver and that is plugged into a USB2 Hub.
Install just the basic software that came with the receiver and I have a very very good digital picture on my 22" LCD
1680 x 1050 Res. DVI. Sound is AC3 through normal PC speakers quality depend on the quality of the speakers.
I use a YESS receiver at a cost of $36.- USB hub $15.- and the picture is as good as on my $1800.- TV.
Dell 24" full HD resolution LCD Monitor would be tops just right for blue ray.
    good luck

    Hi Sasouna

Mattman has given you the best advice. TV cards and boxes are very dependant on having the latest drivers installed. Check the website of your motherboard manufacturer to see if there are updated drivers. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics and sound hardware. Finally make sure you have the latest drivers for the TV card, they are here:

    http://www.kworldcomputer.com/download/download_pvr-tv305u.htm

As Hawk22 recommends plug the RF lead into your wall outlet or direct to the antenna to get the maximum signal strength.

If you still have problems after doing all this then repost.

    thanks hawk22 & miniwood
sorry for the late response as i couldn't log in till the weekend

i downloaded the card drive from the k-world site (thanks miniwood:))
    but here is the thing
i don't live in America so i don't know what would be equivalent to the wall sockt (coz i don't have that here)
i have a co-axial cable that goes into the receiver through a "sat-in" plug & i have another plug just like it that says "loop-out "
i tried connecting the cable directly to the tuner card but couldn't get any signal
also i tried connecting the cable as usual to "sat-in" then connecting another co-axial cable from "loop-out" to the tuner card also got no signal

    & hawk22 i don't have a usb plug in my receiver :(

    thanks guys

Where do you live? Do you have an RF Antenna or a socket in the wall that is connected to an RF antenna?
