I dumped Norton last week and downloaded McAfee that was free with Comcast. Ever since I can not open "link" within my emails. I have tried everything including a useless internet consult with McAfee. I had this problems a few years back but can not remember how I corrected it. I can't do a copy and past as the address is not on some of the links. I get some things from my granddaughters school with links that just say "click here" and when I click it it does not take me to the internet which is where I know it will take me or else it will be a pdf file attached. HELP!

This happens in all links, even ones I send myself from the internet. I am using Windows XP and Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.

    Thanks

    For Pete C.

Go figure this one, I was able to register the one you said would not register:
    regsvr32 msjava.dll

However the following one will not:
regsvr32 mshtml.dll. It says "was loaded but the dll Register Server entry point was not found. This file and not be registered.

I followed the steps specifically at Microsofts site that you liked me to. I even restarted my computer and still links do not work. I think I need to change my computer knowledge to "don't know very much" ! LOL

Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!

If you have an 'old' copy of XP that is possible - msjava was pulled from Windows several years ago following a settlement between MS and Sun.

Some more possible solutions for you - BTW are you running IE 6 or 7?

Check In OE under Tools > Options > Send that Html is checked.

If you are running IE7 - Tools > Internet Options > Programs and check that IE is set as the default browser - should be the same in IE6.

In IE7 try resetting the browser - Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reste button.

I shall be away a week as of this evening so am unlikey to respond further in the short term.
