    Hi All
I have a friend that made a slide show with pictures and music with Windows movie maker.

She burned it to a CD-R but it will not play on her parents home DVD player they get sound but no pictures to go with it.

I can't get it to burn to a DVD, sonic wants a CD to burn it to.

Can any one tell me if there is a way to convert this so I can make a DVD or change file extentions so that it will play on a home DVD player?

Don't want to spend any money here btw.

    Thanks

    Hi

I don't know of any freeware that will do the job. I would use Nerovision Express but if you don't have Nero then this might help:

    http://www.divxtodvd.net/dvd-creator.htm

The free trial version can be used three times, that's free I guess, depending on how you feel about it. :)

My favorite program for burning DVD's is TMPGEnc, but it aint free. I am not sure what the limitations of the trial version is.

A free program that I used to use was VSO DivxtoDVD.
    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm

Occationally I would run into a problem where the sound was slightly out of sync with the picture.

A program called Super can convert any video file into a DVD compliant .vob file, but I've never figured out how to make the missing .bup and .ifo files so that I could make a playable DVD.

Give DivxToDVD a try. It works well most of the time.

    Hi Miniwood
Ok I got dvd creator to burn a disk but only to a dvd-rw and it won't play on my dvd player.
When I use a dvd r I keep getting a message that there is no disk in the drive, there is so I'm not sure how to make it see it?? any ideas?

    Hi Ranger
I'll try yours also and see if it will work.

    Hi Geri

I'm sorry, no idea what's going on there. Can you use dvd creator to create an image and try burning that with another program? Otherwise hopefully Ranger's suggestion will work.

I always use Aimersoft DVD Creator, it can easily convert all popular video formats (AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MOV, FLV, etc) to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable and home DVD players, that's very good, you can check it out for free

    Hi
OK don't know what I'm missing here, but none of the programs will burn it:confused:
I get the message to insert a writable disk, I have a DVD-R inserted but none of them are seeing it?

    I have a HP DVD writer 400c.

Will not this work for burning a DVD? I even lowered the speed from fastest to 16X then down to 8X just to see if that was the problem.

    Thanks

    Hi Geri

It sounds like either a media or hardware problem. I notice you say you have a DVD-R inserted, according to the HP site the drive will read DVD(minus)R but will only burn DVD(plus)R. Is that the problem?

    Hi Miniwood
