   My desktop pc recently died (XP Home edition OEM VERSION). I got a new base unit with xp pro edition allready installed. I put the old hard drive in the new machine as a slave drive and all my old data is present and correct except for the folders that were on my old windows desktop. Can you tell me how I can retrieve them.

   Before taking ownership, you must find them
   
   They will be in \Documents and Settings\ {User Name} \Desktop and could also be in \Documents and Settings\ All Users \Desktop.
