   How can I set up desktop icons for external drives using Vista Home Premium? When I right click the drive in My Computer it does not show an option to create a shortcut, and when it sets up the external drive I don't see an option to create a desktop icon?

   My flash drive and dvd drive have a create shortcut option when I right click....
   
   But, from your desktop - right click and select New ShortCut and drill down to the drive ....
