I did a reinstall of Vista Ultimate and now I need to find out how to get the info from the windows.old file into my new install. I need to find my Roboform passwords,Outlook adress book, and IE favorites for starters. If there is some sort of tutorial on how to do this I would like to find it.

    Thanks

    Jeff

I doubt you can easily do that. Best way is to boot into the old windows install, and export the data you want, then import it in the new install.

Thanks I will try that. I have been able to drag and drop some of the files.

    Windows reinstall

I am not too sure but if you did the upgrade then other than the windows directory, every other folder etc is still there. Therefore if you had Roboform installed, find out where you installed it to and then reinstall the program to the same directory and it should pick up the data file.

I very seldom use the default locations for any programs so I can't help you as to where but probably c:\program files\roboform

After some trial and error that is what I did and it worked just fine.

    Thanks to all
