I have a Lenovo PC and last week while using FF 3 the Lenovo Password Manager worked just fine. This morning when I turned my PC on I received a message that Windows had recovered from a serious problem.

At that point after Windows did its "search for solutions" thing it advised that I do a System Restore which I did. I then noticed that I no longer had FF 3. I re-installed FF 3 and that's when I discovered that Password Manager was now disabled with a message that it wasn't compatible with FF 3. That's not exactly true because for the past couple of weeks I was using FF 3 and Password Manager.

I did call Lenovo and the only thing they could suggest was that I check pop-up blocker. I couldn't see where that had any effect on this issue.

I don't know if anyone here uses Vista Home Premium and has a Lenovo system but I thought that perhaps someone has had this issue also.

    Ramona,

Thanks for the time. Luckily last night I found that forum on the Lenovo site. And boy was I glad. At least now I know it wasn't just me. They've given a fix but not sure I will try it.

The only thing that really bothers me is that I was using FF 3 since it first came out and Password Manager worked just fine. Then I had some sort of issue with Windows and the Lenovo installed recovery deal couldn't fix it and did a System Restore. After that no Password Manager.

    Thanks again.

This may be a different problem, as System Restore was used. I bet that creating a new profile would fix the problem.

I just did get the issue resolved last night.

Lenovo has a forum and I found a thread started on this very issue. A couple of folks there are way more computer literate than I and a couple of them found a fix.

You would think that Lenovo would have worked up a patch themselves. A couple of those members should be on the Lenovo payroll but we all know how these big companies are.

    Thanks for your time.

    Pat,

You must be relieved to have found a password fix. Thank goodness for good BBS Forums. I learn more from them than all the books I've bought.

You're right about that. I was getting so confused and even more so after I contacted Lenovo and they didn't seem to know squat.

One guy on the Lenovo board really went the extra mile for me. At some point I, as you well know, get overwhelmed with info and just need the step by step instructions. There were two members that really seemed extremely knowledgeable and one even wrote the xpi file that finally did it.

    Thanks for your help.
