[FONT= "Arial"] Earthlink.net is my ISP. I am using DSL When I attempted to download the Windows XP SP3 ISO file the download had a throughput that was like transmitting this data through ambergris! Additionally, the download kept timing out. I've had to restart it more times than I can recall. I tried making this download at different times of the day and still it's slow as a slug in a canine agility course run.

I am not in a great hurry to download this ISO file. I'd rather get this CD via surface mail. I have canceled this download; I'm awating advice from y'all. I'd rather not have this download tie me up for 5 hours. I have some additional files I need to download.

    Hi Brian

Do you know the download speed of your DSL?

A lot of DSL is still below 1 mb many are only 1.5.

    Test: http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?flash=1

The file you are trying to Download is 500+ megs.

At 1mb (and assuming you could get a max of 1mb) then it would take 500 minutes (8hrs 20 mins) to D/L this file.

And you will not get 1mb Down even if you have DSL at 1.5.

To download this file you should use a File downloader that resumes.

    Like http://www.download.com/Free-Download-Manager/3000-2071_4-10301621.html?hhTest=1

At least you can resume and get it but it will still take hours. Start it when you go to bed if it lost connection then resume it and go to work!
