I have Time-Warner cable modem installed on my Windows XP computer. This modem works by electricity. The electrical wire on my cable modem is plugged into my electrical wall socket 24-7. When I send an e-mail to a friend who has dial-up modem, what route does this e-mail take to get to his computer? Thank you. abm

The mail goes from your machine to your ISP - then it goes to your friends ISP and waits for your friend to dial in and check mail.
