I had some virusses and now when I open my computer: my C drive disappeared, a floppy drive appeared (but I have no floppy drive) and my dvd drive doesnt work anymore. The only thing that still works is my virtual clonedrive but that isnt hardware :p
So can anyone please help me with these problems?

Hi and welcome to the BBS,

    Run CHKDSK
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265/en-us

I might wonder if the "virtual clone drive" is interfering with the way the drive system works now. Look up information at the suppliers website. Uninstall it and then reinstall it later if you cannot find another solution. Is the clone drive a backup method? You want a backup method that will allow you to go back to a time prior to the infection

The question may be how much damage the removal of the virus has left Windows. I always consider reinstalling Windows in such a situation (you could try a "repair reinstall" if the system uses a retail version of Windows). Are more problems going arise by trying to keep Windows limping along? If virus removal works 100% for me and the system is back to working exactly the way it did before, fine, if not, I don't bother trying to patch it back together, it might even seem OK, but I am hesitant about what might happen in the future.

Put the name of the virus into a websearch, find out what damage it may have done and how successful the removals have been.

    Matt
