Rock mobile disk

I have a rock external hard drive that has started making a clicking noise when it's connected to my computer.When you first connect it the red light comes and then it clicks three times and the drive tries to spin fpr a few seconds and the light yellow and then it repeats the process again.I get a message saying USB device not recongized;one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfuctioned,and windows does not recongize it.Does any one know how I can pull the files off this device or get it to working again?

Clicking is not a good sign.

You could open the case and take the drive (HDD) out and test it by connecting it into a desktop computer.

A "last stand" method is to put the HDD into a plastic bag and put it into the freezer for several hours (say overnight), then take it out and quickly connect it to the computer. If you can access the drive, copy the data off ASAP.

Try not to use the drive unless you are working on a definite plan to try and backup the data.

See if Rock have a Support contact system. Ask them.
