narob - a good general troubleshooting article for Excel is XL: How to Troubleshoot Startup Problems in Microsoft Excel - Q280504.

And Here is details on the latest Office Service Pack with a link to download it. Good idea if you don't already have it installed and may well fix your problem.

Sorry I can't help with your specific error. GPFs are always tough to track down as are errors involving user.exe. Also, the error may be associated with the spanish language version you are running which I know nothing about.

Office has a "detect and repair" feature located in help. It takes a while and you need the original installation disk. Just open one of the programs that works, click on help and you will see detect and repair. Or you can insert the installation disk and it should give you the option to detect and repair. Post back good or bad.

    Thanks for your suggestion aleekat.

I have tried it and the problem is still there.

The only thing is that now I can open excel in a safe mode (excel.exe /s) and at least I can work with it.

I will install the new Office upgrade and see if that solves all the problem.

Many thanks for all your help.

    narob.
