XP SP3 Updates

    A week back I installed XP SP3 on my computer. This has been touted as the latest and greatest. If this is so, why did I need to download and install 7 updates in the past 2 Tuesdays. I wonder how many I will need to install next Tuesday. That is the only thing I have noticed, so far.

    SP3 is basically a rollup of all the security fixes issued since SP1 and it is not unreasonable for there to be further fixes issued as new loopholes are discovered.

    If you were still running SP2 you would have received the same or similar patches.

    It appears that I got the updates for SP2, (that I had downloaded and installed for SP2), but none of the loopholes are fixed until I down loaded updates for SP3. I have not noticed any improvement with SP3.
