Does anyone know if there is a way to make user manager for domains appear in Windows XP Pro??

I will be upgrading my work PC to XP Pro and need the facility to access user manager for domains from my desktop, for setting up new user accounts and unlocking users when they lock out their accounts.
I don't even know if it is called the same in Win XP Pro ???

    HELP PLEASE!!

    Many thanks

    Colby
p.s. as you can probably guess I work in an I.T. support role!!

If you are managing NT4 domains, install the NT Server Tools (from the NT Resource Kit) or copy the relevant exe files from the NT Server to the client or create shortcuts like:

    \\servername\admin$\system32\usrmgr.exe domain_name

There is adminpak.msi RC1 for managing Win2k servers.

User manager for domains in Win XP Pro

Thank you Dorfmann, you were right with that shortcut!
It works a dream, I was just not sure if Win XP Pro did contain Network admin tools of it's own.
    :p

I am entering the brave new world of Win XP Pro, so rest assured that there will be other questions.............:D

Colby - as far as I can remember, the server/domain monitoring tools have never been part of the workstation package but have been with the server package. We'll probably see something when they release the server version of XP (which is called something else altogether but will be NT5.1 server by whatever name).

Not sure how bad or well this'll work (can't test in real world by now), but in WinXP you can go to "Control Panel" -> "Administrative Tools ", and then to "PC Management ". (Don't sure about the name of the MMC applet, but is the only one with an icon like a little P.C. with a Blue Scren.) (Using Spanish version of XP Pro. Never had an English one in my hands.)

From here, from the "Action" menu, you can connect to any other "NT-like" P.C., and manage it. This is basic, standard functionality in XP (don't remember 2000). No need for "adminpak.msi" unless you want a lot of more advanced controls from your desktop.
