Hi guys, silly question maybe, but for the life of me I cannot figure this out. I reinstalled XP on a computer, and now I am unable to open shortcuts when I want to add a file to an e-mail through the paperclip. Before reinstalling this worked perfect. Now, instead of opening the shortcut, OE just adds it to the e-mail. Anyone has an idea on how to fix this again?

    Thanks in advance!

Not sure I understand your problem.
The paperclip is to be used when you want to add a file to an email as an attachment.

Yes, but when I try to browse to the location of the file, by opening a shortcut to a folder on the desktop for example, it adds the actualy shortcut, instead of opening it and going to the actual folder.

I don't know what sort of magic you worked before the reinstall, but OE works just the same for me - add a Desktop shortcut as an attachment and it does exactly that :) I would expect no different - I asked OE to attach a shortcut.

Problem is that on receipt of the mail the attachment does not open the file on my computer and certainly won't on another computer - the file is not there :)

Are you sure you could do it before?
