Just read an interesting article and would like some feedback on it. I'm wondering if it really would be cheaper to buy this software separately when purchasing your computer instead of having it already pre-installed. It sounds good to me. :) Here is the link:

    Thanks for any input.

There wasn't any mention of price to rent the software...So it's hard to say if it would be cheaper.

I'd guess that if you "need" office and use it all the time over a five year period that buying it would be the way to go.

I was one of the engineers supporting the Albany Beta.

It's a pretty good deal, but as Steve mentions, it does depend on your usage (to an extent).

I believe the article mentions the price, $70.00 annual subscription.

However, there is an additional benefit, which at that price, is virtually free, and that is the Live One Care annual subscription is included in the package.

As long as you don't need more applications than are offered in the bundle, it seems like a pretty good deal, even if frequently used (taking into account what you would have to pay for updates on virtually any anti-viral program you purchase today).

That was one of the things that I was curious about. Not everyone uses all the features in a bundle. I hate bundles! I've had nothing but problems with them, so don't buy in bundles any more. I try to make sure I have what I need to protect my computer, but it's getting harder and harder now a days to do that with all that keeps getting thrown at our PC's. That's why I was just wondering if buying this bundle was really worth it in the long run.

    :)
