    Hello,
My friends pc has completely given up, constant BSODs, spy/malware, homepage hijackers etc. system restore doesnt work, cant connect to web for long enough to download or check anything.
I've decided to try & reformat it for her. Its a dell machine (dimension 2400) we have the original xp installation disc plus the utility & driver discs that came with it new. Everything is backed up.
I've not done this before & I'm a bit nervous.
I wondered if you have any advice before I start, and if you could point me to any tutorials I can print out.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

    thankyou for the links,
Once it has reinstalled, do I need to install all the drivers for Graphics, monitor, printer etc. If so, whats the best way of doing it, do I use device manager to find them from the cd, or is there a better way, sorry for my lack of knowledge!

You have the Driver Disc , so stick that in and it should install most of your drivers. Then go into Device Manager and see if they need to be updated. You should be good to go then.
