Dumb question. How do I unsubscribe to an RSS feed? How do I know which reader I have? C:\WINDOWS\system32\msfeedssync.exe sync is in my
    scheduled task list.

Click on the 'Favourites' star and then on the Feeds tab - right click the feed and select delete from the popup menu.

    Your default reader is IE.

I have the same scheduled task as you note - it is hidden, but not working it would seem. As I rarely use RSS feeds I am not going to lose any sleep over it :)

So I can just right click and delete to remove feeds I don't want? Does that include the Microsoft ones? The scheduled task is set to run once a day, and it did run today. Any harm in disabling it? Does it run only if I.E. is open?

    Yes and Yes :)
No - any feeds that you have will not be updated if the scheduled task is not run.
I don't know for sure, but the easy way to find out is to close OE, go to Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks and right click on the task > Run and see if it does.
