laptop shutsdown a mintue into boot up

    laptop shutsdown a mintue into boot up...even when its on the charger... does anyone know what can be the cause of this problem...greatly appreciate any help on the matter...thank you...

    Is this the same Laptop that was overheating in one of your other posts?

    If so then that is likely it.

    If not then while the screen is black during boot tap the F8 key repeatedly until you get the Boot menu with Safe Mode, chose safe mode then when/if at Desktop then let it set for a few moments to see if it shuts down again. If so it may be heat!

    thanks for the help...it was a completely different laptop...i overlooked something that i normally dont...the laptop wasn't charging...so ends up its his power jack...but i have another ?...

    i recently changed a motherboard on a dell inspiron 2600...but now i have a black screen...i took this thing apart 4 times in 2 days to trace my steps in case if i didn't connect something...but thats not the case...my question is...

    i dont know how sensetive a lcd cable is...because i kind of scratched/groove on it...could that be the cause of the black screen or can a lcd inverter get damaged from changing a MB...i would greatly appreciate your help or anyone's for that matter...thank you...
