connecting two PCs via router

    I can't connect my laptop (windows vista) to my desktop pc (windows xp), I'm using a linksys router. Please help fast cause this problem is driving me made.

    Have you enable file and print sharing on both pc's?
    Have you shared individule folders?

    yeah, welcome, this problem just drove me mad I kept in my room for hours with no use, anyway I found the soloution in the forum :), the solution was so simple that I didn't think about it.

    However, I have a new problem, I made a file to be shared in windows vista and it appeares in xp but i can't access it. Why is that?

    Ok, now I wanna play online c&c generals, however I can see the xp player but he can't see me. Any thoughts why that could be?
