About: Westside

I am, nearly, 76 and retired from a faculty position at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I was in the Dept. of Pharmacology, but I have been a trained biochemist. I was born in the far NE corner of Italy, now part of Croatia. It used to be communist Yugoslavia, so my family moved long ago.
The use of the computer has kept me from go senile, I hope.
These newsgroups are fun, in general, and I have been corresponding with a number of user, on a personal basis.
I live in Omaha, NE, in the "Westside" school district. Thus my nickname.

You've quite a recent family history, I bet that is interesting stories and memories.

 

What a small world we live in! My husband has just retired from The University of Glasgow where he was a senior lecturer in Biochemistry; we met at Oxford University where I was a laboratory technician in the Biochemistry department. We both hope that using the computer will stave of the dreaded "senior moments" Our new motto: Use it or lose it.!

Great to know you a little better. You and I go back a few years now (in another forum) so it was good to have this extra little bit of information.

 

And, for our WA friend, my Croatian relatives live in Seattle. They have a cabin in Whidbey Island. All great fishermen (and women).
I live in Omaha with my wife. My youngest son lives in town. Two children live in Michigan (Ann Arbor and Mt.Clemens), and one in Florida (Tampa). A total of four grandchildren.
I, really, like this new feature of Windowsbss.

 

Congrats on the grandkids, Westside.I've five myself. One in Barcelona, two in Ottawa and two in Fergus (a little town northwest of Toronto). You've got me by a few years though. I'll be 62 at the end of next month.
