Don't think we'll need SATA drivers, as it's a Seagate Barracuda ATA drive.

We are going to build a Bootable CD that will run a special version of windows directly from the CD and not from the Hard drive. The Windows is called WinPE.

With it we will be able to browse the HD and get data or do scan/chkdsk virus scans almost anything as if booted from the HD!

We may be able to fix the issue with this without doing a repair install as we tried a while ago.

Tho we are making this disk to fix your issue you will find this handy for quite sometime!

Keep the Windows SP2 cd handy as we will need it! We will ne 1 CD-R fro writing!

Get this we will need later. Install it!
    ImageBurn http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

    Go here download this:

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Boot-Manager-Disk/UBCD4WIN.shtml

    Then read this:

    Then do it!

    http://ubcd4win.com/howto.htm

When down, run it when it gets to the screen that has Plugins click that.

Then notify me and I will guide you thu it from there.

Uh oh! better news would have been SATA as that would have been the reason Setup could not read the disk!

I hope the disk has not failed!

Get the UBCD to the point to contact me back!

I've downloaded the programs to a CD, but they are in the compressed format.
Do I have to 1st install them on this computer and THEN burn them to the CD?

Perhaps a little but that is against BBS rules.

While we are doing this others are benifiting from it also.

They should not be ziped just install both.

Go back and readthe link How to install!
