windows update hangs, incomplete installer downloads

Hi,
Hi have a new dual core pc 3 GHz, I'm running windows xp - sp2, I have Kaspersky antivirus. I tried to run windows updates and the install hangs in the middle - no response, not even ctrl/alt/del - I have to phisicaly turn off the machine. Also I tried to download EMule Installer and the download only downloads 800k instead of 3 Megabytes. Any ideas?

Pls. check for hard drive for free space & also check the virtual memory settings. I am sure this shud help.. !!!!!

Is your network card ok? Try downloading something else to test... if it does, try updating to a newer driver. Also, microsoft provides free phone tech support for updating issues.
