Windows 98 has MSConfig. Does Windows 2000 have something similar?

it doesn't have the msconfig utilty.

There are 3rd party utilities that do the same thing, but the names of those utilities were lost when the board got hacked. :(

Alex - if you can get a copy of msconfig from an XP CD (yup - they decided it was a Good Thing again) it will do nicely with a 2K system.

Lots nicer and more features than any of the older versions too.

Thanks for the replies; I'll look for it on the XP CD.

Ok. got the message on msconfig on the XP disk, but how do I "properly" extract it? I really don't think renaming msconfig.ex_ to msconfig.exe will do, or will it?

    Thanks,

    Alan

Thanks guys!! yes, I do believe that the management tools contain many, if not all, the tools made available in the msconfig.exe utility, but this way it is a little more accessible and productive. besides, it's way cooler too! (just kidding. been talking to my teen-agers too much)
