I bit the bullet and updated to IE7 from old faithful, IE6. I used to be able to hover my cursor over an image and IE would offer to save or print it in the top left corner. In IE7 that seems to be gone. Any way to get that feature back? I find myself swishing my cursor around out of habit trying to make it appear, but it doesn't, then I have to right click... "save pic as" . Is that just life now? That little pop up was handy, and I'd like to have it back.

    Hi Johanna

    Long time no see :)

AFAIK that feature is not available in IE 7 - haven't seen it for years!

You'll just about have time to get used to 7 before IE8 is released - now in beta.

Thanks for the reply, Pete! I stalled with IE7 for so long because IE6 was working fine. Of course I have IE7 on Vista, but I don't boot into Vista very often, especially if I need to get any real work done. I'm debating whether or not to go back to IE6, or embrace the future and accept the changes. Bah! I didn't realize how much I used that helpful hover to save pics. There was another pop up that allowed me to zoom in on a pic- I see that odd little orange square has been replaced with a microscope. There is control P to initiate a print- I wish there were a keyboard shortcut to save a pic instead of the right clicking.

I understand there have been major security improvements with IE7, and someone bravely redesigned it. But there are like 6 ways to do the same things now. It seems rather redundant. IE and the Google toolbar are still taking up 4 rows of toolbars and which is about 3 inches of the top screen on a 19 inch wide screen monitor. Tabbed browsing might be nice once I get used to it and quit clicking the red X at the top right and getting the helpful prompt, "Do you really want to lose all the windows you have open, dummy?" After I do that anyway, I have to hunt for History. It is in Favorites. Favorites doesn't bookmark a page anymore, I need the star with the plus sign. I know I can get used to new ways of doing things. Yesterday I was in a Kroger waiting on their digital picture lab and text messaging with the kids on our cell phones about which DVD to rent, and one of them sent a picture of the cereal he wanted instead of typing out the name. I know I wasn't doing any of these things five years ago. I'm feeling old and cranky I suppose, so if someone comes up with a trick to put that little save pic hover back, please post it here. I would really appreciate it.
