    Hi,
I had to take out my Trend-Micro the other day...storm came through and blew my DSL box, tried to tell the guy that but nooooo he had to take me through a bunch of **** including un-installing my Trend-Micro. Well now I can't get it to re-install because it says it's already there and it's the tmdshell.dll that remains and you can't delete. So how do you take it out of the system so I may reinstall my anti-virus??

Well it starts but then comes up and says the following:

The system administrator has sety policies to prevent this installation.

What the heck is this? I'm administrator....there are no other users on this computer. Any suggestions???

You have to take ownership of the file. What Windows version is it?

I got the tmdshell.dll deleted...my computer now will not let me re-install my TrendMicro. Says the Administrator has set policies to not allow this....not exactly what it says...I wrote it a few post ago. But I've ran a search for TrendMicro and PCcillin to be sure ALL folders were gone and they are. I restarted in Safe Mode and claimed ownership...still get the same thing. Don't get it...

I found the issue on why my Trend Micro wouldn't reload, Trend Micro sent me a email with a series of things to do also, and not working so I went back and just got to looking through things as I went into things...one was My Computer, right click, then Properties and then go to Hardware then Device Manager and what I found there was the problem....there under Network Adapters was a mini port by Trend Micro and that was keeping it from reinstalling....deleted that and it loaded right in.
But the one link above was great to get the tmdshell.dll out of the system!!

    Thanks for all the input.
