Undeliverable mail

    I have OE 6 and have two email accts through Earthlink. I have recently started receiving 5-10 emails a day on both with the subjects "Delivery Status Notice (failure)" or "Returned Mail: see transcript for details ". They are from some offshore source. My normal emails (both incoming and outgoing) are fine.

    I have run all my security/cleaning programs including HijackThis 1.99.1 and I appear to be clean. I also keep my computer off most of the time. What is going on here? Thanks, Larry

    Guessing the some spammer is using your address as a return addess for their spam. When the spammer sends to an invalid address, you get the bounced mail.

    Not much you can do.

    I can accept the inconvenience, as long as I am not infected with the Andromeda Strain!!

    In your experience, with these emails ever end?

    I agree with what Steve said. You also have an outdated HJT on your PC. Trend Micro HijackThis 2.0.2 is the latest version. You can download the latest version here.
