I used a converter program called "switch" to convert an mp3 to wav and recieved this stop error:

.mp3 to .wav is a big change. WAV is rather simple. Turning a MP3 into WAV might be easy if the MP3 was not complex.

My method would be:
If you want to make a "signal" file, edit the MP3 to the part you want to use as the signal. Convert that edit into a WAV.

In the dump readout, I am a little concerned about the file listed as "SearchIndexer.e ", I expect it should normally(?) be SearchIndexer.exe. This is the original supplier of that software:

Some websites supplying that download seem to be something to be wary of.

If it only happens when you do that MP3 -> WAV conversion, try another converter. My point though, was that you may be trying to convert a complex file into a simple file...see what I mean? Do you have any simple MP3 files you could try converting?

If you look at the possible solutions for Stop errors, the suggestions may include problems with drivers or hardware. I suggest if it only happens with your audio file conversion, investigate the program that is running it.
