    HI first time here- I went to start- programs- windows update- and all I get is this:
    Thank you for your interest in obtaining updates from our site.

    This website is designed to work with Microsoft Windows operating systems only.
    *****************
    the rest of the page is blank and nothing happens- anyone have any ideas where the update page went? I use to go there because I do custom updates

    Hi Liz, do you have Auto updates available? You can select the updates to notify you without auto install so you can select what you want. When did you last check as you may need the validation update to enable any downloads. I would assume that you haven't got SP3 yet? One of the moderators will probably help but I thought these things to check might give some more insight into your problem. Neil.

    Would you let us know your version of XP and the Service Pack installed. Can be found here ....

    Control Panel > System

    The usual reason for that response from Windows Update is given in ....

    "Thank you for your interest in Windows Update" message when you connect to the Windows Update Web site

    Read through that and post back if you think that any of the conditions apply to your situation.
    In the Additional Options dialogue below the message pane in which you type your message is a dropdown Notification Type. By default this is set to Instant email notification so you should receive an advisory email when a response is posted.

    thank you- found everything where you said - I am using windows XP home- all is ok and running smooth and up to date now- thank you very much
