when Windows are done with loading, N7 wants to open....I'd rather start it by myself, when I need it...is it because of a Quick Start button?....can I change it?

    Hi broni,

Yes, you can enable/disable Quick Launch from your Edit | Preferences | Advanced

    Under Advanced look for:
"Enable features that increase performance ".

You might also check your Network settings:
    Start \Settings\Control Panel\ Internet Options\

Under "Connections" you should have three options like or similar to the following:

    Never dial a connection
Dial whenever a network connection is not present
    Always dial my default connection

    Enable/disable accordingly.

    1. i have a cable so i'm always on
    2. i understand that Quick Launch lets me start N quicker, i wouldn't like to disable it, i just want to prevent it from opening N when windows start (just like: "hey, Quick Launch ", sit there, be ready for my command...lol)
anyway, thanks Ramona for all those quick responses

It may be NIM. Click Edit, Preferences, Instant Messenger, uncheck the first one.

First post so take it easy on me.

    Welcome to the Forum, Metal!

    Hi Metal,

We promise to be gentle. ;)

I don't use NIM or AIM, so you know much more about it than I do. It has been a couple of years since I installed the program on my second PC, and I know there have been lots of changes in those two years.

I went with the recommended install from Netscape, then everytime I rebooted Netscape 7 tried to start, one time I let it and all that opened was NIM so I went into preferences changed it now it doesn't. Netscape 7 is great.

actually it was Quick Launch, which was causing this problem, and another one listed in this forum under "N7 'downloading navigator.xul'....i disabled Quick Launch and both problems are gone
