    Hi there,

This is my first time here and I'm hoping someone can help me. My AV picked this up last night: Win32:adware-gen.[Adw] when I tried to load a Yahoo game. I ran a full system scan with Ad-Aware and Avast AV. All that turned up were some tracking cookies. This morning I tried to load the same Yahoo game and again my AV warned about this bit of malware. Could someone tell me what this is? Is it dangerous and if so what to do about it?

    Many thanks.
    Annie

    Hi Anniebabe
    Welcome to Windowsbbs. :)

    First is this you?
    http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72966

    Second, please read this.
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/announcement.php?f=41
"If you are receiving help for the same issue at another forum, DO NOT start a topic for it here, unless you notify the other forum that you are doing so. Please inform us of this, and give us a link to that topic so that we can see what has been done. "

We will be glad to help you, but you either receive help here or at gladiators.

It is a waist of our time if you are receiving help in multiple forums because we do not know what tools or instructions are being carried out.
Files are being added and removed which can cause confusion for both helpers.

If you wish to be helped here then please close the thread in the other forums.

    Let me know.

    Thanks
    Geri

Yes I posted there. When no one answered I decided to try elsewhere out of desperation to find out if this was something to worry about. Sorry to have bothered you.
    Regards
    Annie
