My Media Player started acting up last week. Not sure what changed but when I click on a link on a web page it starts to download the file to my computer and will then open it when it is downloaded. I have tried all of the settings that I can find and can not change the way it is handeling the files. There must be a setting where I can go back to the way it was, where after clicking on the link media player opened and started playing the file without having to download it to my HD.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks Jeff

Did you try Reset all defaults under Change AutoPlay settings?

In IE, go Tools>Internet Settings>Advanced tab, click Reset button.
    Restart computer.

OK I tried that and still no change. This is getting to be a real pain! Do you suppose that it would help to uninstall and reinstall IE?

Yeah, you can try to uninstall IE. It'll revert to IE6. See, if links work there.
