We decided to change our choice of windows Screen saver from FISHES (the aquarium) to something else for a bit. We've now want to go back to the AQUARIUM and no longer find it listed in the choices for SCREEN SAVER! Where did it go?? We didn't delete anything. Has this happened to anyone else and how can we get it back?? THANKS!!!
    Tres

You could always reinstall MS Plus! to get the Plus! Aquarium back.

No idea. Mine is in the system32 folder: plusaqar.scr. You could search and see if it got moved somewhere else.

    I've found two possibilities:
Problem: Screen Savers don't start - but you don't get any error messages
Likely Cause: . You have a program running that makes Windows think that something is happening on your computer and therefore it doesn't start the screen saver.
Solution: First test the Screen Saver by using the Preview feature in Screen Savers setup - if the screen saver works here it is very likely that you have software running that prevents the screen saver from running.
    Likely suspect programs are:
    Lotus Smartsuite's Smart Center bar
    Microsofts Office Tool bar
Shutting these application off will allow the screen saver to run correctly.
    OR.....
If you're not logged on as "Default User," it could be the result of screen savers not being enabled as the default user.
Solution: Go to the Start button>Shut Down>Close all programs and log on on as a different user. When the log on screen appears, Click Cancel. After Windows has started, enable the screen saver. Log back on under your user name.

    Miz,

If, by chance, when you mentioned "Microsofts Office Tool bar" you were referring, instead, to the MS Office Shortcut Bar, I don't think it's the likely culprit. I've used the Shortcut Bar (Office 97) with Win95, Win98 FE & SE, and XP Pro, and my screensaver has always worked just fine.

JSS3rd...I just copied and pasted that from another site. I, too, have use the MS Office shortcut bar without any problems with a screen saver. However, if I've learned nothing else from using Windows, I've learned that every system has its own little quirks. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Office Shortcut Bar interferes with screensavers on some setups. For example, I have one system on which the screensaver won't start if I close down all the windows and don't end by clicking on the desktop....to make it the "active window" or whatever it's wanting. It's the only system I've ever seen that has that little "requirement." I suppose it's a Windows thing.
