Motherboard ram

    The following computer spec states that maximum expandable memory is 2GB.

    Who sets this limitation? As far as I know Windows XP and Vista operate with 4GB limit. Does the motherboard actually set such a limit?

    Thought it was strange that a fairly new motherboard would have such a low-ish limit with the raising hardware demands (ref Vista). Do you think its purely a cost issue ? (Just curious)

    Only two RAM slots on that mobo, so 1 GB per slot, which is not all that abnormal for older PC's, though it is a bit poor for a pc that is sold with Windows Vista. Must be a budget mobo...

    Isn't it the same as buying a car? Big car - Big price. MS XP or Vista advise minimum requirements for the computer to run satisfactorily so if you have a big pocket get a comp with more RAM and better CPU. etc. Neil.
