    Hey,

I am trying to restore archive.pst file from 2002 to 2007 and receiving the folowing error:

File access is denied. You do not have permission required to access the file archive.pst

No password or encryption was set when backing up this file.

    Any ideas or solution?

    Thanks

    Wil

    Which OS are you using?

Can't say that I've heard of a restore function in Outlook? What exactly are you doing?

Where is the archive.pst file located?
Are you being prompted for a password?

    Windows 98 to WinXP PRO.

The old emails were being archived and I was trying to save them as a .PST file to restore them on our new laptop.

Yes, I am prompted to encrypt and a password and I say no. When I try to restore them on the laptop I get the error in the intial posting.

When you say restore - do you mean "Import? "

Try entering the password to the email account on the older machine when prompted for a password.
