Volume as in sound, volume as in partition, volume as in (something else)?

    New problem?

    And your system is?

Have you looked at the sounds section of control panel?

And I sorta assumed you used 2K as your OS from the post in this section. I was wondering about the system itself. Gateway does things differently than dell who does differently than compaq, and so on.

If you aren't getting any sound at all, maybe speakers plugged into the wrong port. Been there and done that a few times.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your sound card.

If you have sound but no volume control, Gateway should offer the option of putting a sound icon in systray and it will have volume control.

And Here is a Gateway article about troubleshooting sound issues with their systems.
